Scoring for Dummies
As boxing viewers, we see different angles of the fight because television cameras are positioned in different angles. At the end of the fight, we can keep track of our scoring but it doesn’t necessarily mean that we have the same results as that of the judges. Flip Homansky explains some of the scoring basics in boxing. Judges score what they see. It can be observed that three judges are position on the three sides of the ring. This way they can see hits from different angles, but they don’t necessarily see the same actions. They build some consensus to address this issue.
