There are boxers who made their fortune in boxing because indeed if you’re a boxer and your match is usually arranged by big time promoters you’re in for some big bucks. A fight can have 1 million dollars as the prize, and even if you lose you still have a share of the money. In addition to that, if you emerge as an icon, endorsement deals are just around the corner. But there are also boxers who don’t make it to the top and often times they retire unknown. No wonder why most of the boxers I know here in the Philippines often come from poor families.
